Relax
Dog Days is the name for the most sultry period of summer, from about July 3 to Aug. 11. Named in early times by observers in countries bordering the Mediterranean, the period was reckoned as extending from 20 days before to 20 days after the conjunction of Sirius (the dog star) and the sun.
We are a little past the official dog days but here in the Northwest the weather matches the description. In short this is a way to say we are taking the week off. Nothing is on the calendar and it seems like everyone is out of town so we are just relaxing in the garden and hope you are too.
